Not as Planned

Not as planned!

Most of us start any new process with good intentions, however as the process progresses, life distractions can cause us to falter. In Romans 7, we find Apostle Paul struggling with intentions to do right when evil is always present. We know his struggle is valid because we can all witness to it. For instance, your intention was to be fit, to work out more and watch what you eat. As soon as you declared your new lifestyle changes, things around you began to change. Your work schedule picks up, thus cutting your work out time and now you cannot focus on previous healthy declarations and goals.

The same thing can happen with our spiritual life. We begin our walk or even our day, in good spirits. We are happy to help and our intention is to live this Christian life with zeal and excellence. Out of nowhere, we began to miss Morning Prayer, skip bible studies, work more than worship and now our walk seems more like a time consuming burden than a privilege.

Fret not; it is normal to get off track some times. However, it can be detrimental to your spiritual growth and life, if we do not snap out of it quickly. For starters, begin to ask God to renew your mind (Romans 12:2). Once your mind is renewed and set for change. Every thing else has to follow suit.
In Romans 8:6 we find “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
This verse states it clearly, if you have your mindset on what the flesh wants that is what you will seek and ultimately it will lead to negative things. On the other side, if you seek the spirit, it will bring forth peace and life. If we make up our mind to pursue the things God wants for us then our mind, body, and intentions will naturally align.

You chose your focus point!

Dear God, Thank you for all you are to us. Thank you for giving us the ability to know the difference between right and wrong. We ask that you forgive us for allowing things to distract our fellowship and relationship with you. We ask that you renew our minds and transform lives. We ask that you continue to shape us in to the instruments you have planned for us to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Showmanship

Your showmanship does nothing for me at all; it’s the unmasked, uninhibited, flawed you that hooks me I fall for the innermost you ... so know that

Friends Going Places -Jerrell Fields

Congratulations to Jerell Fields, Graduate of Winston-Salem State University, for the feature in PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) Magazine, along with four other African American young men. The feature details the amazing opportunity; these five young men have taken to participate in the PGA Post Graduate Diversity Program. This program is aim to diversify the PGA.

Jerell is truly embracing “Life after WSSU!!!”

What a prestigious honor to know a young man that is actively making history within a sport that at one point was not so easy to break into. Again, I say Congratulation to Jerell and wish him well in all of his future endeavors.

Congrats to you my fellow Ram!

True Beauty!

There is nothing more beautiful than a woman who genuinely loves herself. When true self-love is present, she does not have to emphasize, flaunt, or boast. True knowledge of self speaks louder than rowdy actions, unruly accessories, and constant displays of assumed worth.

True Beauty never has to prove itself…. it just is

Flowers have never had to boast of their beauty and value, so why should you? Did not God create you just as uniquely intricate as the flowers of the field?
